Prompt: If you had to describe how you show love using only three objects (for example: a playlist, a hoodie, a late-night snack, a long text message, etc.), what would you choose and why? Explain what each object represents and how it connects to your personality.

 Prompt Response: If I had to use 3 objects to describe how I show love they would be a portable charger, a calender, and a playlist. I chose a portable charger because I think its important to be reliable to a person you love. I chose a calender to represent consitancy, similarly to the portable charger I believe its good to be consitent. Last a chose a playlist to show that it's good to pay attention to little things, and it connects to my personality because I like music a lot.  Summary: Today in class I wrote a 15 line poem to my mom. Reflection: I learned how to code something new in one of my classes.

Prompt: In the spirit of Valentine’s Day week, describe your idea of a perfect day spent with someone you care about (a friend, family member, or significant person in your life). image.png

 Prompt Response: My idea of the perfect day with my girlfriend would start by going out to do a fun activity. After that we would go to a good restaurant to eat dinner and talk, then maybe go somewhere after for ice cream or something. Then to wind down we would go to someones house and watch a movie and relax. This is my idea of a perfect day because it's fun and I get to spend it with someone important, but it's  not too much. Prompt: Today, you learned how to complete a rhetorical analysis planning guide step by step, from identifying the rhetorical situation to analyzing devices and effects. Reflect on one step of the rhetorical analysis process that helped you understand the process more clearly.  Prompt Response: The step that helped me analyze the speakers message was analyzing rhetorical devices. This stepped helped me because it showed how the speaker uses them to make the audience a certain way.  This improved my writing because it helped me explain the speakers purpose better.  Summary: In class we completed the rhetorical analysis guide. Reflection: I learned something new in US history.

Explain how this experience impacted your confidence as a writer and whether you feel prepared to continue analyzing complex speeches and texts in American Literature.  Prompt Response: This experience impacted my confidence as a writer in a few ways. Reading and writing a rhetorical analysis about a speech has made it easier for me to identify rhetorical devices in texts. Which makes me feel better about the evidence I include. Writing the rhetorical analysis helped me practice writing in general, which improves my confidence. Summary: We wrote a rhetorical analysis about a speech by Obama Reflection: I learned how to write a rhetorical analysis.

Prompt: What is the most challenging part of working in a group? Discuss a time when a group assignment did not go as well as you planned and how you learned from that experience.

 Prompt Response: The most challenging part of working in a group is having different ideas from each other. I think this is the most challenging part because it's hard to reach a conclusion when everyone isn't agreeing. One time I worked a group assignment was in middle school with a few on my friends. We all had different approaches to start the project, and it took a while to figure out how to start. I learned that having different ideas is good sometimes, because you can include a little bit of all of them. Summary: We worked in writeable about rhetorical devices. Reflection: Working in groups can be better than working alone if everyone does there part>

Prompt: Describe a real moment in your life that felt like the beginning of a powerful story. Tell what happened, and why it felt like a turning point in your life?

Prompt Response: A moment in my life that felt like the beginning of a powerful new story was the beginning of this second semester. I feel like this is a turning point for me, because I'm trying to do school better. For example I signed up for tutoring ], and cut out other activities that would negativly affect my performance in school. I think this decision will help me the rest of this year, and next year. Prompt: If you had to write a poem about your life RIGHT NOW, what would it be about? Explain your answer in at least 4 to 5 sentences.

 Prompt Response: If I were to write a poem about my life right now it would be about soccer and school. This is what it would be about because I am about to start soccer, and I'm very excited. Another reason is because I didn't get to play last season because I broke my foot. School would be the other topic in this poem because it is a big part parrt of my life, and takes up most of my time, Summary: We took notes on rhetorical analysis and did 2 commonlit assignments. Prompt: What is the most challenging part of writing an essay for you? Is it brainstorming, organizing ideas, writing a strong thesis, or something else? How do you plan to overcome this challenge? image.png

Prompt Response: For me the most challenging part of writing an essay is formating it and organizing ideas. This part is the most challenging part for me because I'm not good at connecting everything together. Another reason is because it's the step where you put the whole essay together, which makes me overthink the final product. I plan to overcome this by practicing writing essays Summary: We finished writing reflection on writeable Reflection: I learned how to play a new game on my chromebook.
