Prompt: Chris chooses independence over relationships. When have you chosen to be on your own instead of relying on others? What happened, and would you make the same choice again?

Prompt Respsone: One time I replied on myself instead of other was when I stayed home and cook instead of going to eat with my friends. I did this so I could save money for prom and spring break. Although I didn't get to spend time with friends, I would definitely do this again. Because I think it's good to have long term stability. Summary: We read more of the book in class. Reflection: I learned more about the book.

Prompt: Chris McCandless rejects a traditional path of success and instead defines success on his ownen what success means to you at your current stage in life. In the response, explain how success is currently defined (grades, college acceptance, achievements, happiness, etc.) and where those ideas come from. Then, consider whether that definition truly reflects personal values or if it is shaped by expectations from family, school, or society.

Prompt Response: I think success means accomplishing a goal. In my life right now success is defined as having good grades and a job. I think it's shaped from family, friends, and society because it's what everyone's told to do to be successful. However I still this definition somewhat reflects my personal values. Summary: We read more of Into the Wild. Reflection: I learned  more about Chris McCandless.

Prompt: Reflect on your reading of Into the Wild chapters 1–10. Which chapter stood out to you the most, and why? In your response, explain what specifically made this chapter meaningful, interesting, or impactful. You may consider elements such as McCandless’s actions, a key event, a theme, or Krakauer’s storytelling.

Prompt Response: The chapter of Into the Wild that stood out to me the most was chapter 7. It stood out because Chris went back to work for Wayne Westerberg, which shows Chris can keep friends and live a normal life. But even though he returned, he decided to abruptly leave again, and to go to Alaska. The author was showing that Chris wanted to be independent. Summary: We took a test on chapters 1-10 of Into the Wild. Reflection: Improved test taking skills.

Prompt: For most of you, yesterday you took the SAT. If you did not, you will take it before you leave high school. What is your desired SAT score? Identify your top three colleges and explain why each school appeals to you.

Prompt Response: My desired SAT score is a 1400 because that is a good score. My top three schools are UGA, UNG, or Auburn. I want to go to UGA because it is a nice school and its in state, and some of my family went there. UNg is in my top three schools because it is the one I'm most likely to go to. Last auburn is on my top three because most of my relatives, and parent went there. Summary: We read chapter 5 of Into the Wild. Reflection: I learned about why Christopher McCandless didn't like his parents.

Prompt: Twice a year we adjust our clocks for daylight saving time, but the change can affect our sleep, energy, and daily routines. Now that we have sprung forward; reflect on how this time change impacts you personally. Do you find it easy or difficult to adjust your schedule? Explain how the time change affects your mood, productivity, or daily habits.

Prompt Response: The time change has affected my sleep, energy, and productivity. Loosing time made me feel more tired in the morning, and I didn't feel like I had as much energy. Not having a lot of energy made me less productive in school because I lost focus more because I was tired. I also felt like it took longer for me to fall asleep. Summary: In class we read chapter 6 of the book. Reflection: I learned about new marketing methods in my 2nd period.

rompt: In Chapter 5 of Into the Wild, McCandless is strongly influenced by writers like Jack London, whose stories shape the way he thinks about adventure and wilderness. Has a book, song, musician, or artist ever influenced the way you think about life, goals, or the world around you? Identify the specific book, song, musician, or artist and explain how their ideas or message affected your thinking.

Prompt Response: One musician that has influence the way I think about goals and the world around me is NBA Youngboy. The reason he music influences the way I think about goals because he talks about his struggles and how he accomplished his goals, and became successful. He also shows how you can still accomplish your goals no matter who you are, because he used to be poor and lived in a dangerous place. Summary: We read chapter 5 of Into the Wild Reflection: I learned something new in AP gov.

Prompt: In Into the Wild, Christopher McCandless gives up many of his possessions in pursuit of freedom and meaningful experiences. If you had to simplify your life and keep only a few important possessions, what would you keep and why? What would be hardest to leave behind?

Prompt Response: If I had to give up a lot of my possessions like Christopher McCandless I would keep my car, because it allows me to travel where I want. I would give up my computer, TV, and air fryer because they are just for entertainment or convenience inside my house. The hardest thing I would be willing to give you would be my phone because it is how I can communicate with people I know, listen to music, watch TV, and many other things. Summary: We read chapter 4 and worked on a writeable reflection. Reflection: I learned about new people in the book.

Prompt: After reading Chapter 1 of Into the Wild, consider your first impression of Christopher McCandless. Based solely on the events and details presented in this opening chapter, do you believe McCandless truly understood the risks he was taking when he entered the Alaskan wilderness? Why or why not?

Prompt Response: My first impression of Christopher McCandless is that independent but I also think he is clueless. I think this because he only brought a small gun and 10 pound bag of rice, which isn't enough to protect you or keep you fed for a long time. He is independent because cut off communication with all of his family and started traveling alone. I don't think he understood the risks he was taking when he entered the Alaskan wilderness because he didn't have enough supplies which showed he didn't know about the dangers, and he refused help from people who picked him up. Summary: We read the first chapter of Into the Wild Reflection: I learned about who Christopher McCandless was.

Prompt: After viewing your classmates’ digital posters and reading the feedback comments left on your work, what new ideas or perspectives did you gain about your poster? Reflect on how the feedback influenced the way you think about your creative choices and describe what you learned about the creative process while designing and presenting your poster.

Prompt Response: After looking at my classmates posters I think I should find better templates for my posters. I also saw how the layout of the poster can affect it overall. I think the feedback was a good way to find out what I needed to improve. I didnt really gain a new perspective from the feedback, but to improve next time I will use a better template, and make sure it has a neat structure. Summary: We answered questions about two videos about ai, and wrote comments on classmates posters.  Reflection: I learned more about ai.

Prompt: Reflect on the simile and metaphor worksheet. Which topic challenged you the most when creating your figurative language, and why? In your response, explain what made that topic difficult and how you worked through the challenge (or what you might do differently next time).

Prompt Response: I think making the simile and metaphor worksheet helped me be able to craft rhetorical devices better. The part about this worksheet that challenged me the most was the pressure to succeed topic. This topic was the hardest for me because I left it blank at first, then when I went back to it I couldn't think of a simile or metaphor that didn't sound like my other ones. Next time I will do them all in order so I don't have to go back and run into problems. Summary: We made a digital poster for the worksheet Reflection: I learned how to make similes and metaphors

Prompt: Describe how you spent your time, any activities, traditions, travel, hobbies, or moments that stood out to you. You may also discuss something new you tried, something you learned, or how the break helped you reset before returning to school. Keep your response appropriate for a school setting and focus on experiences you are comfortable sharing publicly

Prompt Response: I spend a lot of my time at home watching TV or playing games. When I'm not home I usually hang out with my friends. The recent break helped me get ready to come back to school because I stayed in town the whole time and saw my friends and family. This helped me reset because I didn't have to worry about turning in any work. Summary: In class we read a poem and found the similes and metaphors Reflection: I learned how to identify similes and metaphors better.
