Prompt: Dickinson uses the metaphor of a funeral to describe her inner struggles. What metaphor would you use to describe your own mind?

 Prompt response: The metaphor I would use to decribe my mind is that it is a computer. I would say this because my mind is always processing different information. My mind is also always remembering different memories, much like a computer. It is also a like to a computer in the sense that when it encounters a problem it tries to find a way to solve it. Summary: We read over Emily Dickinsons poems, and answered discussion questions about them. Reflect: I learned facts about Emily Dickinson that I didn't know before, and I learned how she expresses the kind of person she is by writing poems.

Prompt: Write about an adventure you would like to go on.

 Prompt Response: I would want to go to Italy in the future because of the food, culture, and landscape. I think the food in Italy looks good, and it is known for being good and fresh. I also like the cities and towns becuase of the architecure, they have many pretty historic buildings. There are also lots of beautiful moutains and beaches in Italy Summary: We presented our visual representations of our origan myths. Reflection: I learned about peoples different creative skills in my class.

Prompt: Describe something you will never fully understand.

 I will never fully understand why people behave the way they do. Such as Judas betraying Jesus in the Bible. Even though he was one of Jesus's diciples he told the Romans where he was for 30 peices of silver, him because of his greed. I will never understand how people behave the was they do because all people are different, and want different things.

Prompt: Write about something that you wish you had more of.

  Prompt Response:  I wish I had more connections to people to help me get a good job. I wish this because if I have good connections with a lot of people, that could give me good job oportunities. And a good job would mean I get payed a lot, which is good. This would let me be able to buy whatever I want.  Summary: In class we worked on our visual representation project.

Prompt: What is the most creative thing you have ever made? Share what it was and explain why it stands out as your best work.

  Prompt Response:   The most creative thing I've ever made was a wood scupture in elementary school. It was a a wooden ornament of santa clause, that I spent a few days working on with my grandparents, and sister. This stands out as my best work because I haven't created thatmany things, and this one took a long time and was hard to make. Summary: In class we reviewed the instruction for our visual repersentation of our origan myths. Reflection: I learned the different components we need to include in our project.

Prompt: Everyone has burning questions about life. Mysteries we wonder about but don’t always have clear answers for. Think about your biggest questions about existence, purpose, or the world around you. Write a blog post where you share at least two of your most burning questions about life and explain why these questions matter to you.

 Prompt Response: My first question is why, were humans created? This question is interesting to me because, humans were created, but in history there is a lot of desruction and problems caused by us. My second question is, how do I find something fufilling to do in my life? This questions matter to me because all of the career paths that I've been exposed to don't intrest me or seem like they would benifit me.  Summary: Today in class we went over the guidlines for making our own origan myths.  Reflect: I learned about the different parts that should be incorperated in a origan myth.

Prompt: Describe a time you felt completely lost.

Prompt response: One time I felt completely lost was when I was younger I got lost in the grocery store. I looked all around the grocery store to try to find them, but couldn't. At the time I was very scared because I was surrounded by random people. I finally found them in the front of the grocery store, and I was very relieved. Summary: Today in class we presented our our projects on The Jealous Father Reflection: In classic learned the different cultural meaning in the story The Jealous Father

Prompt: Analyze how you’ve adapted to the demands of this course over the past week, and evaluate one strength and one challenge you anticipate as we progress, justifying your insights with personal examples.

 Prompt Response: Over the course of this week I've adapted to the demand of this class by making sure to finish or do all of the work possible during the class. One challenge that I faced this week has been remembering all of my homework. For example in my first period I forgot I had homework due today, but I ended up competeing it early in the class. One strength from this week has been being able to complete all of my classwork in my classes, so I don't have as much work when I get home. Summary: We took a quiz on origan myths, and reviewed the answers. Reflection: I leanned how to properly evaluate multiple choices questions on a quiz/test.

Prompt: Describe a real-life situation in which jealousy negatively affected a relationship you experienced.

 Prompt Response: One time when jealousy negatively affected a relationship, was when I was jealous of my sister. When I was younger I got jealous of my sister because I thought my mom spent more time with her, and bought her more stuff than me. Even though she wasn't it made me upset, this caused me to not talk to her much that day. Which affected my relationship with her negatively, and not communicate with her. Summary: The class got put into groups, and did a group project. Reflection: I read story I've never heard of or read before, and I learned how to collaborate with new people.

Prompt: Write about a meaningful object or place in your life that carries a story.

 Prompt response: My Grandparents house in Alabama is a meaningful place to me. It is meaningful to me because it is where I get to see all of my family at the same time. It is also important to me because it is where I've gone for Christmas every year since I was a kid. Their house is very big and comfortable, which is another reason I like going there. Summary: We read a Navajo creation myth and answers discussion questions about it. Reflection: I learned about the core beliefs of the Navajo people, and how they belive life and the Earth were created.

Write about a time you felt connected to nature, like the kinship in Native American myths.

 Prompt response One time I felt connected to nature like the Native Americans in the myths was on a backpacking trip with my family. We were in the middle of the woods, away from the city, and could only use natural resources. Such as the river to bathe, and fires to cook our food. This experience reminded me of Native American myths because there was no technology, roads, or towns near us. Summary We took notes on the intro to Native American Lit and review the vocabulary words.  Reflection I got a better understanding of how cultural beliefs influence myths, religion, and urban legends. I also got to learn the full definition of certain vocabulary words.
