One time I felt connected to nature like the Native Americans in the myths was on a backpacking trip with my family. We were in the middle of the woods, away from the city, and could only use natural resources. Such as the river to bathe, and fires to cook our food. This experience reminded me of Native American myths because there was no technology, roads, or towns near us.

Summary

We took notes on the intro to Native American Lit and review the vocabulary words. 

Reflection

I got a better understanding of how cultural beliefs influence myths, religion, and urban legends. I also got to learn the full definition of certain vocabulary words.

 Prompt response: My Grandparents house in Alabama is a meaningful place to me. It is meaningful to me because it is where I get to see all of my family at the same time. It is also important to me because it is where I've gone for Christmas every year since I was a kid. Their house is very big and comfortable, which is another reason I like going there. Summary: We read a Navajo creation myth and answers discussion questions about it. Reflection: I learned about the core beliefs of the Navajo people, and how they belive life and the Earth were created.
