Prompt: What strategies have you and your group used to ensure that all members are actively contributing to group assignments? Explain how you communicate, divide responsibilities, and hold each other accountable throughout the process.

Prompt Response: Our group has made sure everyone has contributed by splitting up the parts and getting the missing information from the members who did that part. So if someone doesn't do their part everyone will be affected. We divided the sources by giving some people literary reviews, academic journals, data, news, magazines, or an image. Summary: Absent Reflection: Absent

Prompt: What challenges did your group face while selecting and analyzing sources, and how did you overcome them? Be specific about how your group communicated and worked through disagreements.

Prompt Response: My group didn't face that many problems while analyzing the sources, but one could be deciding which ones to pick. I think this was somewhat an issue because there were a lot of sources to look through. Our group worked through this by discussing them with each other and comparing them. Summary: We did a worksheet about analyzing sources Response: I learned some of my groupmates sources.

Prompt: How has completing the annotated bibliography changed or clarified your understanding of your research topic? Discuss how your sources connect to one another and how they are shaping your argument moving forward.

Prompt Response: Completing the annotated bibliography helped me understand my topic better because I could look at it from different angles. Some sources focused on pressure and body image, while others showed how it spreads beauty trends and normalizes surgery. These sources are helping shape my argument by showing that social media influences cosmetic procedures in multiples ways, not just one. Summary: Absent Reflection: Absent

Prompt: Which part of the annotated bibliography (summary, reflection, or evaluation) was the most challenging for you, and why? Explain how that challenge helped you grow as a researcher and how it will help you when writing your research paper.

Prompt Response: The most challenging part of the annotated bibliography was the reflection because I had to explain why each source mattered and why it would be helpful instead of just summarizing. It made me think harder about the information and connect it to my topic. This forced me to slow down to better analyze the information and understand it. This will help me make my research paper because I can explain my evidence more clearly. Summary: Absent Reflection: Absent

Prompt: Think about your experience using GALILEO to find sources. How was this different from how you have searched for information in the past? Explain how using specific search strategies and evaluating sources impacted the quality of what you found.

Prompt Response: Using GALILEO was different from how I normally search because it gave me academic sources instead of random websites. I has to use specific search strategies like keywords and filters which helped me find more accurate information. Evaluating each source also made me pay attention to things like if it was peer-reviewed too see if it was reliable. Because of all these things the quality of these sources was better than what I usually get. Summary: We found sources Reflection: I think GALILEO was better than using google.

Prompt: As you gathered sources, you were expected to find multiple perspectives on your topic. What differences did you notice between your sources? Explain how these differences helped you better understand the complexity of your issue.

Prompt Response: I noticed that my sources all talked about cosmetic procedures and social media, but from different angles. Some focused on social media pressuring young adults to want surgery and some were more about how its used in to educate. Some gave me other viewpoints because they talked about beauty standards, celebrities, and parents. Seeing the different viewpoints helped me understand how much of an impact plastic surgery has on people. Summary: We found sources. Reflection: I figured out how social media influences young people to get plastic surgery.

Prompt: Reflect on your research topic and identify the most compelling issue connected to it. Clearly explain what the issue is and discuss why you find it particularly interesting or important. Support your response with specific details from your research.

Prompt Response: My research topic is how is social media influencing an increase in cosmetic procedures among young people. The most compelling issue connected to it is social media's effect on beauty standards. The creation of new beauty standards from edited pictures or ones with filters causes self-esteem issues that lead to people getting plastic surgery. Summary: Absent Reflection: Absent

Prompt: Political cartoons often use exaggeration and symbolism to make a point, and they can also serve as important visual sources for analysis. What is being criticized in this image? What does this source suggest about the issue, and what does the cartoonist want the audience to question or reconsider?

Prompt Response: This cartoon is criticizing Trump and ICE. It shows how some leaders use conflicts overseas to try to distract people from problems in their own country. The cartoon shows problems in America, illustrating the Big Beautiful Bill crushing Uncle Sam, and the ICE worker kicking Uncle Sam. I think the author made this to get people to see what's happening in the U.S. Summary: We worked in our groups Reflection: I agree with the cartoon.

Prompt: Think about how you have searched for information in the past compared to what you practiced today. How is creating specific search phrases different from just “Googling” a topic? Explain how this strategy will improve the quality of your research.

Prompt Response: Using specific phrases is different from googling because it helps the computer find exactly what you want. This makes it so you don't get a bunch of documents that are just related to the topic. This will improve the quality of my research because I'll get more trustworthy and detailed sources. Searching with specific phrases is also beneficial because it saves a lot of time that would be spent looking for the right source. Summary: We did a CommonLit Reflection: I learned about Hollywood Dreams of Wealth, Youth, and Beauty

Prompt: Your research question is designed to explore a complex issue. What makes this topic difficult to answer or solve? Identify at least two different perspectives or factors related to your topic and explain why understanding multiple viewpoints is important.

Prompt Response: My topic is how social media influences cosmetic procedures. This topic is somewhat difficult to answer because I don't know a lot about cosmetic procedures. Some people think social media does influence it, and some people don't. It's important to understand both of these sides so you can have a correct conclusion Summary: We read sources and talked about them in class. Reflection: I learned more about USPS.

Prompt: Reflect on your past experiences with research in school. What challenges have you faced when working independently or in a group, and how did you handle them? Explain how those experiences will influence the way you approach this current research project.

Prompt Response: I've had lots of experience with research in school. I think it's easy sometimes, but when it's something like a project, I find it harder. Usually, the main problem I face when researching is finding a good source. I handle this by looking for them for a long time. I think this will be different because we are using Galileo. Summary: Absent Reflection: I found out I was sick

Prompt: Pick one of the connection based questions and answer it in your blog. Be sure to write out the question.

1. How do you respond when people give you advice? Do you usually accept it, question it, or ignore it? Explain your reasoning. I usually accept advice when someone gives it to me, especially if it's a friend or family member. Although I would ignore it from someone who has no experience with what they're saying. Summary: We read the book Reflection: I learned more about Chris

Prompt: Based on the first 40 minutes of the film and Chapters 1–11 of the book, does the visual version of Chris’s journey make his choices seem more justified or more reckless than the text does? Explain how the medium (film vs writing) shapes your perspective.

Prompt Response: The film doesn't make him look reckless because it shows pretty views of the places he went. Whereas the book does because it lists out facts and his mistakes. The music and acting in the film also affect how Chris comes off, because it makes you feel bad for him. Summary: Absent Reflection: Absent

Prompt: How does watching the film version of Into the Wild change or deepen your understanding of Chris McCandless compared to reading the book? In your response, explain one key difference in how his character or experiences are presented, and connect this to a time when seeing something visually changed your understanding of a situation.

Prompt Response: Watching the movie deepened my understanding of Chris because it let me see the places he lived and his experiences. The book feels more serious and focused on his interactions with people, but the movie focuses more on his feelings. One time I understood a math problem more when seeing someone do it instead of reading how to do it. Summary: Absent Reflection: Absent

Prompt: If you could plan the perfect spring break with no limitation, money, time, or responsibilities—what would it look like? Where would you go, who would you bring, and what would you do?

Prompt response: If I got to go on the perfect spring break, I would choose to go to somewhere with a beach, or an island. I would go with my friends, and not bring my parents with us. I would do this so we could stay up later and have more fun. Summary: We had a commonlit. Reflection: I learned how to pack my suitcase better.

Prompt: McCandless set out to live independently in the wilderness, but his death reveals the harsh reality of nature and survival. In your blog post, analyze how his desire for independence contributed to his death. Then, connect this idea to your own life by explaining a time when you wanted complete independence or control over a situation. Did things go as planned, or did you face unexpected challenges?

Prompt Response: Chris McCandless died because his search for independence caused him to ignore the tools he needed for survival. He thought he could handle the wilderness, but he didn't look into how dangerous it was. I felt similar to this when I tried to fix my bike once, but messed it up more, this was an unexpected challenge. Summary: We finished reading the book and the movie I learned about the ending of the book. Reflection: I learned about the ending of the book.
