You’ve been in American Literature for 4.5 weeks now. How has the class been going for you so far?

 Prompt response: Class has been going good so far. I am up to date with all of my work, and I understand the class. I have leaned more about origin myths, and the cultural values that are encorparated in them. I've also learned about poems, and why they were made, and how they are structured.

Summary: Today we annotated peoms by Emily Dickinson.

Reflection: I learned about the author of the poems view on life and death.

 Prompt Response: Throughout the last few weeks in this course we've read many Robert Frost poems that have had new vocabulary for me. While reading through these peoms and analyzing the new words that I've learned they've greaty impacted my writing. I've taken more time ot think about how I can improve my vocabulary by using more intricate terms. The complex vocabulary in the Story the rockpile also helped me understand the situations better with use of powerful words. Summary: I worked on finishing and turning in my one pager assignment.

Prompt: After watching the short film Identity, write a blog post reflecting on how the masks in the film represent the pressure to fit in and the do you want your mask to restruggle to discover who you really are. Choose one moment from the film that stood out to you and explain why. Then, connect the film’s message to Langston Hughes’ poem “I, Too” and to the mask you are creating in class. What part of your identityveal?

 Prompt Response: The masks in the film represent struggle to fit in because everybody else in the school have different colored masks then her. One moment in the film that stood out to me was in the lunchroom, because she was sitting alone because her mask was different from everyone else. The message of the poem "I Too" is about not fitting in with other people because of being a different race, this is similar to the short film. Which is about not fitting in with people because there mask doesn't look the same. I want my mask to represent where I'm from.
