Prompt: The last scene forces readers to reinterpret Emily’s entire life. Write about a moment when new information changed your perception of a person or situation. How did that “plot twist” reshape your understanding, the same way Faulkner’s ending reshapes the story?
Prompt Response: A moments that changed how I saw someone was a long time ago were I thought one of my classmates was just sitting around and not doing any work. I learned he was caring for a sick family member at home, and was just tired, but before I new this I was judging him for being lazy. This made me change how I think about people, because you will never really understand what is going on in someone else's life.
