After reading “Out, Out—” by Robert Frost, reflect on a time when you faced a dangerous or high-pressure situation that demanded your complete focus. What made the situation risky, and how did your concentration affect the outcome?

 Prompt Response: One time I faced a somewhat dangerous situation was when my mom made me clean the roof. This task demanded my complete focus, because along with blowing leaves off, I had to clean the gutter. This was risky because I had to get right next to the edge of my roof to clean them, and without my complete focus I might've fallen off. Summary: We read a poem by Robert Frost, and annotated it. Reflection: I learned about how some people have to immmediatly continue with there lives after loosing a loved one.

Prompt: Write about what you did over the Fall Break.

 Prompt Response: I left school during school on the friday before fall break, then me and my friends met up and drove to my friends farm in Blue Ridge. The first day we stayedd at the house, but the second day we went to explore the area and town. After I got back from Blue Ridge I stayed home for the rest of the week, and went out with my friends. Summary: We made a comic strip with a panel for each of our 15 vocabulary words. Reflection: I learned the definitions of some word, and I learned how to used some of the words.

Prompt: Write about a moment when you had to step out of your comfort zone.

 Prompt Response: One time I had to step out of my comfort zone was when I went on a lighthouse. Many summers ago, I went to a lighthouse in Erie with my Dad and his family. I was very scared of heights at this age, but my dad made me go with them to the top of the lighthouse. I was terrified walking up all of the steps to get to the top, finally we got there and stepped outside to the railing. I was still really scared during it, but I think this experiece was good for me because If I hadn't have stepped out of my comfort zone I could've ended up still being afraid of heights. Summary: In class we began an argument paragraph about if shooting someone can be categorized as a "good kill" Reflection: I learned more about how to identify evidence in texts.

Prompt: Describe a time when someone’s words had a lasting impact on you.

Prompt Response: Throughout my whole life, every adult I looked up to always said treat others how you want to be treated, this is a time that someone's words had a lasting impact on me. I think this has a lasting impact on me because I have been remineded of it so many times. This phrase also lasted because it is a statement that is applicable in everyday situations. I think this phrase has a good lasting impact on me because it causes me to think about my response to people, even if I'm in a bad mood. Summary: We completed an assignment about analyzing why evidence was wrong, and continued writing an argumentative paragraph. Reflection: I learned more about how to identify if evidence is not effective.

Prompt: How do you find time to enjoy your day, even when you have a lot going on? Write about at least three specific things you do to enjoy small moments throughout your day.

 Prompt response: When I have a lot going on, some ways I still find time to enjoy my day are watching TV, hanging out with friends, and listen to music. Even thought I don't have a lot of the day left after school I enjoy watching TV because it gives me something to think about, other than work. Some days I also go hang out with my friends after school for a few hours, this is important to me because it lets me get out of the house, so I'm not just going to school and back home. Lastly listening to music helps me enjoy my day because it allows me to be productive while doing other activities. Summary: Absent Reflection: Absent

Prompt: Write about a dream that felt real.

 Prompt Response: Out of all of my dreams there is one that stands out from the others. When I was younger I used to get scary dreams before school started because I was Anxious. Unlike all my other dreams that were caused by anxiety for going back to school, this one was about purple monster that took my family. After they took my family, they took them to the top of a lighthouse. That is where I woke up, but this dream felt so real to me because when I woke up I fully remembered it, and because it was about my family being in danger. Summary: We made a sentence for each of the vocabulary words, and Completed a Newsela assignment on cancel culture. Reflection: I learned about the pros and cons of cancel culture, and the meanings of some of the vocabulary words I've never seen before.

Prompt: Write about something you’ve always been curious about.

Prompt Response: Something that I've always been curious about it history. Ever since I was a little kid history has alwyas been my favorite thing to learn about. I think I've always been curious about it is because it is such a broad topic, and there is a variety of events to take. Everything is different because the times and places of things, which makes it more intriguing than other subjects. Lastly curious about history, because it shows the reasons or causes to events that shaped everything today.  Reflection: We wrote an argumentative paragraph, about specific unpopular opinion. Summary: I learned how to come up with my own evidence better. 

Prompt: Write about the best gift you have received.

 Prompt response: The best gift I've ever received was my car. I think this is the best gift I've ever received because for one, it is a very big gift to receive. I think this shows how much my grandparents love me, because they gave me a car for free, and I think that is an important part of recieving a gift. This gift also means a lot to me because it is very practical, and I use it pretty much to get wherever I go. Reflection: We wrote an argumentative paragraph, about specific prompt we chose. Summary: I learned how to explain evidence better. 

Prompt: Write about a conversation that changed you.

 Prompt response: One conversation that changed me, is when my parents told me they were getting a divorce. This conversation changed me because, I had no idea that they were thinking about it, and it was very out of the blue to me. This conversation also resulted in different housing situations, and a step mom. If I didn't have that conversation, I think I would be a completely different person then I am now. Summary: We did an assignment about taking evidence from a source and explaining why it relates to a claim.

Prompt: Write about a time when you were judged unfairly.

 Prompt response: One time I was judged unfairly, was in elementary school. Me and my friends had gotten in trouble before, so they already new who we were. One day my friend needed to use the bathroom during recess, but we couldn't find any teachers. My friend decided to pee in a bush, and have me stand next to it to make sure nobody caught him. But none girl saw us and told on us, after this we got sent to the principles office, where we were punished with lunch detention. I felt like this was a time I was judged unfairly because I didn't do anything, but I got in trouble. Summary: We read a text called what can fear teach us, and answered questions about it.

Prompt: Write about something that you believed as a child.

 Prompt Response: One thing I believed as a child was leprechauns. One of the main reasons I believed them was because every Saint Patricks Day at my preschool they would leave a train of gold coins and footprints. I also believed this because I didn't think anyone could find the end of a rainbow. Summary: We did an assignment where we had to find a picture to represent each of the 15 vocaubary words. Reflection: I learned more about what the vocabulary words mean.

Prompt: Write about a fear you have overcome.

 Prompt Reponse: One fear I have overcome over time has been of rollercoasters. Until I was 10 I was scared to go on any rollercoaster with my family when we went to parks. Even though I was scared everytime we went I had to go on some of them. Because I was forced to go on them I eventually came to like them. Summary: We wrote different types of claims. Reflection: I learned what to include in each type of claim.
